16 Weeks of Awesome!

Image
This handsome fella brightens our lives every day! He has been the best baby we could have ever asked or prayed for. His easy going personality and love of sleep has made our transition to a family of 5 so smooth. He currently sleeps about 11 hours a night, and naps about 4 times a day. Even though I feel like I'm constantly waking him up to go somewhere during the day, he is still happy and content pretty much all the time (unless he's hungry - but I can't blame him. This chunky monkey loves to eat!) Oh, he's also decided he doesn't like wet diapers - but other than that, he's just a chill little man. The girls love their baby brother, and I couldn't imagine my life without him. Just taking a little time today to thank the Lord for little girls and little boys. #blessed

Kindergarten Graduation

Image
Thursday night Jenica graduated from Kindergarten and I couldn't be more proud of her! Her school year began on her 5th birthday so she was the youngest in her class. I went back and forth about whether to send her or have her do one more year of pre-school, but ultimately I felt like she was ready. The first couple of weeks were challenging (more on an emotional level than academically) but then she settled in to the routine and seemed to do fine the rest of the year. The last two quarters she received perfect attendance, and at her graduation ceremony she received an award for great penmanship. She has also become quite the little reader these days! Other highlights of the year included welcoming her baby brother to the family and of course, bringing him for show and tell, along with her first pet - Lilly the hamster - who also got to come to class for show and tell. We were so blessed by her amazing teacher, Mrs. Reafsnyder and all the wonderful staff at Country Christian. It ...

Being "Mom"

Image
Being a mom has been the most rewarding and also the most challenging thing I've ever done. But I wouldn't trade it for the world! These three brighten my world on a daily basis and I honestly couldn't imagine my life without them! Love my babies! Kenton 12 weeks old  Tenley as a baby (currently almost 3!) Jenica as a baby (currently 5 1/2)

The final weeks of our "walk"...

Image
My dad arrived around week 38, and we were all hoping that baby would make an early arrival. But the days passed and nothing happened. Around week 39 we had a huge snow storm and our prayers changed to not going into labor early, since they were advising everyone to stay off the roads. Frankly, I wasn't worried that we wouldn't be able to make it to the hospital, I was more worried that maybe the epidural guy wouldn't be able to get there in time (or at all.) But not to worry, those prayers were answered and baby still did not come. Here is my Week 39 picture: It wasn't a week that I was planning to take a photo, but I wanted to document the snow. Even though the kids had a great time playing in it every chance they got, I just didn't feel up to posing for a picture in it. So what you get is an empty photo of our neighbors house while I tried to relax inside. The last weeks were really rough. I was miserable, uncomfortable, and so ready to meet this baby! My ...

Kenton's Newborn Pictures - 7 days old

Welcome to the family!

Image
Kenton Robert Bachelder was born on February 15th, 2014 at 2:29pm. He weighed 9lbs and 12 oz and was 2 days early. He measured 22" long. No wonder Mommy was so uncomfortable while he was on the inside. He's a big boy! We all fell instantly in love with him and have been so busy enjoying him that I'm just now getting around to blogging. And here's the video we posted while we were in the hospital to announce that we had a BOY!
