Well, we are not road tripping anymore, but sometimes coming home can be just as great as being on the road. We live in a 2 bedroom townhouse. All 4 of us. All 3 kids share a room. Granted it’s a large room, with a curtain down the middle so Jenica, the pre-teen, has some privacy. When they go to their dads, they share an even tinier room together. But after getting back from living in the RV for two weeks (all 5 of us) we feel like we are coming home to a mansion!  I love traveling, but I also really love having a home to come back to. I love our little neighborhood of matching townhouses.  But more than that, I love the people that live in these houses (and the apartments next door.) We’ve really become a tight knit community since Covid got back in March, and many of these people are like family to me now. Kenton missed his best friend Evan SO much, and we heard Evan was pretty lonely without him too. Kenton kept checking this morning for Evans door to be open, which is usually the

Road Trip Day 16

We woke up in Denver around 8:30 and grabbed some “to go” breakfast from the hotel lobby since full breakfast is canceled due to COVID. Thankfully the pool was open (I had called ahead to be sure) and although you were supposed to make reservations to use it, no one else was in there at 9am so we had the place to ourselves for 2 hours.  Then we showered, visited a couple parks nearby (but it was already getting HOT) and then did a little exercising in the fitness room since no one else was using it. We had requested late check out at 1:00 so Rob could get in as much of the work day as possible before heading to the airport to return the car. Everything went smoothly, we even got our entire own shuttle bus from the car rental drop off to our terminal (social distancing at its finest.)  We were through security quickly and then had a fun little train ride to our concourse.  Artwork at the Denver airport  Every single seat on the plane was full 😬 On both flights, they said they’d be comi

Road Trip Day 15 - Church, kittens, catching up with old friends and making new ones

We had the best day today catching up with more friends from Oregon and getting to do church with them. It was seriously the best way to wrap up this latest adventure that we’ve been on and we are looking forward to coming back in a couple weeks and seeing all these amazing humans again (why didn’t I get a group pic before we left?) Chad had a great message for us (although having this cutie pie next to me was a little distracting). They had fun little goody bags to keep the kids occupied, which Kenton was very into. He also made some new friends, including Captain Jack the cat, and had fun playing with boys his age after being on the road with his sisters for two weeks. And all the kids loved playing with the new kittens in Jason and Leslie’s shop. I’m pretty sure Jenica will want us to bring one home with us when we come back next month. Amanda cooked us a delicious steak dinner and we all ate together before hitting the road for the 6 hour drive to Denver. (Thank you so much Lands a
