A much needed update


I finally got some updated pictures posted at the bottom of the blog in my little comparison section. Tenley looks less and less like her sister the older she gets although it's still obvious that they are both Bachelders! My mom says Tenley looks a lot like me as a baby and she is also following in my tradition of loosing her hair from the forehead back. It started out with a little bit of a receding hair line like her Daddy but now she is approaching full blown baldness in the front, hence the addition of cute headbands and flowers. I'm actually kind of excited about the headbands since Jenica had so much hair that they didn't really work for her. She needed pig tails at 3 months old I think!

We are getting ready to head to San Diego for a few days for my Grandma's memorial service and some fun visiting time with family. Jenica is excited to fly on an airplane again and we are hoping all goes well with our travels. You sure need a lot of stuff when traveling with two small children. I can't imagine making the trip by myself so I'm super thankful that Rob was able to take time off from work and come with us.

Our new house is really starting to feel like home. Pictures on the wall really help! Joi helped me hang this collage, with a mismatch of frames that I painted all black.


You'll have to come over if you want to see the pictures in the frames :) I also did a batch of frames in white to hang in our bedroom. It was a fun project and made me feel a little more confident in my creative abilities. Some of you have noticed that we moved. Some of you know that I bought a house. Some of you know I bought the house with my kids’ dad, my “wasband” of 5 years. Yup, you read that right! Me and the ex-husband purchased a home together. No, we are not getting back together. We have totally separate living spaces and it’s been so wonderful for the kids. (I wrote this a month ago, but I’m just now finally brave enough to share it here. If you comment, please be kind.) I’ve probably taken 25 flights over the last year or so, and every time up until now I’ve thought that things would be better if the plane I was on just crashed, and I died, and Rob could collect the insurance money and hire a nice nanny to care for the kids and I could just go to heaven and be with Jesus instead of having to go through all the pain and hurt that comes with getting divorced. I know that this is completely selfish of me, and I would have never done anything to intentionally end my own life and leave my kids without a mother, but I honestly felt that death was the only way out of the situation I was in. I was not strong enough to leave my marriage, but it had become quite apparent that I was not strong enough to stay either.  Today I took off on an airplane, on one last solo trip before I become a single mom, and for the first time in over a year, I didn’t
