30 Weeks

Baby weighs about 3 lbs this week and total length is probably about 17 inches. She is starting to make mom a tad uncomfortable. It's getting harder to tie my shoes (luckily it's flip-flop season) and even getting up off the couch can pose a challenge on occasion . But overall, I'm still feeling pretty good and baby and I are both healthy apart from a little cold I caught last week. We are loving the sunshine that has finally decided to grace our presence and have been enjoying our new home more and more as we continue to get situated. Only about 10 weeks left until we get to meet this beautiful daughter of ours - and for those of you waiting to hear what her name will be.... Well, you won't have to wait much longer now, will you? :)

29 Weeks

Oops, that's not Shay and baby. Oh well, we don't want dad to feel left out of this whole "blogging" thing, so here's a picture of Rob at 29 weeks. Lookin' pretty good!

Welcome to the third trimester!

Little BB probably weighs about 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 pounds by now and is about 14 - 16 inches in length from head to toes. She has eyelashes now and can most likely open and close her eyes. Up to this point, her brain surface has appeared smooth, but around this time it will begin to form characteristic grooves and indentations on the surface. The amount of brain tissue is also increasing. She has doubled in size in the last 4 weeks. She has pretty regular sleep and wake cycles now and continues to keep me entertained with her kicks, rolls and somersaults , which are now pretty visible from the outside. Her dad and I are getting more and more excited every day. Less than 3 months to go now!

Not a lot of major developments this week. She just continues to grow and is now putting on more weight. She could weigh in at almost 2 lbs now. She is also beginning to have distinctive wake and sleep cycles. The times I feel her moving around the most are late morning and evening time right before bed, although she has had a couple nights where she seems pretty active all not long. We're still working on getting settled into our new place, but so far we like it a lot. We spent some time working on our front yard this weekend (when it wasn't raining) and have many more projects on our "to do" list for the summer. Feel free to come by and see us! We actually have places for you to park now!
