The little mister is sitting on his own!

Image
This little fella just keeps growing - probably in part to the massive amounts of food he eats! I wish time would stand still for just a bit because I love this age! So much personality, but not a lot of mobility yet! He just started sitting up on his own and of course thinks that is pretty neat, but not as neat as being able to roll across the floor to get to his toys! He's had a couple of grumpy days - most likely due to teething (although there are none to speak of yet) but overall he is still the happiest, most easy going baby we've had! He usually has to wait extra long or be woken up early from his naps at least once a day to take sister to school or pick her up, but he takes it like a champ and rarely complains.  And he's already proving to be an excellent model in the portrait studio... helping me try out this new brick background. Thanks Kenton! Love you more than words could ever describe!

The toothfairy has made her first appearance at our house!

The toothfairy is a girl, right? Because when I think fairy, I automatically think girl. But Rob called the fairy a "he" so now I'm not so sure... Last Thursday was a big day! Just two weeks after her 6th birthday, I picked Jenica up from school to find out she had lost her first tooth! How cool to loose your first tooth during the first few weeks of first grade! I have a feeling it is going to be a year of firsts for our little family of five. She was very excited to show off her tooth and I was happy that she waited until the day AFTER school pictures to pull it out! Not that the bottom one would have showed that much... Unless she did a cheesy grin like this!  The toothfairy brought her a $2.00 bill and a brand new tube of toothpaste (or a glob of toothpaste as she described it to us the next morning - but I promise, it was actually an unopened tube - a glob of toothpaste squirted under the pillow at night sounds messy!) I was so...

1st day of 1st grade!

Well, summer vacation is officially over and Jenica is back to school. Today is her 1st day of 1st grade and she was so excited! What was she most excited about, you ask? Well, 3 recesses of course! Kindergarten was only half days for her last year so she only got 1 recess. Now with full days she'll get 3! That is a very big deal to a 1st grader! And now I get to hang out with these two cuties for the day! Funny how all of the sudden only having two kids at home feels like a break! ha ha!
