Home
Well, we are not road tripping anymore, but sometimes coming home can be just as great as being on the road.
We live in a 2 bedroom townhouse. All 4 of us. All 3 kids share a room. Granted it’s a large room, with a curtain down the middle so Jenica, the pre-teen, has some privacy. When they go to their dads, they share an even tinier room together. But after getting back from living in the RV for two weeks (all 5 of us) we feel like we are coming home to a mansion!
I love traveling, but I also really love having a home to come back to. I love our little neighborhood of matching townhouses.
But more than that, I love the people that live in these houses (and the apartments next door.) We’ve really become a tight knit community since Covid got back in March, and many of these people are like family to me now.
Kenton missed his best friend Evan SO much, and we heard Evan was pretty lonely without him too.
Kenton kept checking this morning for Evans door to be open, which is usually the sign that he’s up (his house is right across from us so we can see their front door from my bedroom) but around 8:30 he just couldn’t wait anymore and asked if he could go knock on the door anyway.
My fridge was completely empty so I did a Clicklist order first thing so I would have food to eat.
Jenica babysat a lot today so I treated us to some yummy Starbucks.
My friend Marcy Jo picked me up for lunch in her cute new Mercedes convertible.
And my neighbor offered to make us dinner since she assumed we probably wouldn’t have any food after being gone for 2 weeks.
Thank you Danielle! I just love having you guys right across the street 😊
We did back to school haircuts even though they won’t be back in an actual classroom until at least November.
And we caught up on a bunch of other errands and boring stuff that doesn’t get done when we are out galavanting around in our home away from home.
(Here’s what she looks like... good ol’ Tumbleweed, our 1997 diesel home on wheels)
