This morning we packed up, dumped our poo, and headed out. After a quick stop at Sandpoint Walmart, we headed North through Bonners Ferry and into Montana.

We made a quick stop in Kootenai Falls and did a short hike down to a fun suspension bridge.

Got some hot dogs from the local stand at the trailhead and then continued on. Rob had a car reservation lined up for our two days in Glacier, but yesterday they emailed him that the reservation had been canceled for “reasons beyond their control.”

We had called all the car rental companies in and around Kalispell (and even Missoula) and everyone was booked solid. We were even willing to pay an exorbitant amount to rent a jeep for a day or two but those were all booked as well. None of the shuttles are running at Glacier and even the local tour companies seem to be shut down for the 2020 season.

We weren’t really sure what we were going to do since the RV is WAY too big to drive the going-to-the-sun road, but for some reason I wasn’t worried or stressed out about it. I just had peace that it was going to work out.

As we drove through Kalispell, we thought about just stopping at a car lot and seeing if they would rent us something. Then we came upon Centsible Auto Sales, and I remembered that they had come up in my car rental search, but when I had called them, it just went straight to voicemail so I had left a message. We decide to just stop there in person and ask, and you know what? They had just had a cancellation and had one bright red GMC crew cab truck that they could rent to us for the next couple of days.

So we picked that up and drove the remaining 15 to 20 minutes to our campground, The Beargrass RV Resort in Hungry Horse, Montana.

The kids were in the pool within half an hour. It was kind of chilly so they were the only kids there and they had a blast playing with each other while I washed a couple loads of laundry in the adjoining laundry room.

We had pulled pork sliders for dinner and had popcorn and movie night (well, the kids watch a movie I fell asleep.)
