NW Road Trip - Day 7
Today was a long travel day. 600 miles and almost 14 hours on the road (not all of that driving, we did make some pit stops to let the kids play and to cook dinner.)
But it ended with this amazing view of the sky on a perfectly clear night, with hardly any moon, in the state know as Big Sky Country.
To add to that, there are two meteor showers going on right now, one of which, the Perseids, peaked just a few days ago.
I know photos just can’t give the same effect as actually laying there gazing up at our incredible solar system, but I’m pretty impressed with what my iPhone 11 can capture without even using a tripod.
The kids did a lot of reading today and watched at least a couple movies.
Jenica got a little car sick but was fortunately feeling better by the end of the day.
Kenton and I watched the sun go down out the window of the RV before I took over driving.
The sky was so pretty when we stopped to switch drivers. Again, I wish photos could capture it better but here’s my best attempt.
During the 3 or so hours that I drove after dark, I saw 16 deer, one of which was in the road and almost lost its head as I flew by in the RV going 60mph. That would have been gross and unfortunate, so tonight I’ll end with a shout out to Jesus for keeping us safe.
Good night y’all 😴
