NW Road Trip Day 2 - Silverwood

Silverwood!

All day long!

Except, they don’t open until 11am (one of the things I love) so we had time in the morning to sleep in, make breakfast, and leisurely pack for the day.

My dad met us at our campsite and hung out for about an hour before it was time to head over. Parking is usually $10 but it’s free right now due to covid. There’s also a free shuttle from our RV park but since it’s only a mile or two up the road we all piled in the two cars (along with our wagon of course... can’t do Silverwood without a wagon!)

We started on the log ride, which practically had no line at all, then did the Ferris Wheel and Paratrooper while we waited for bumper boats to open at noon. All nine of us were able to get in boats at the same time and we had an epic water fight. It was one of the highlights of the day. Then we headed over to the tilt-a-whirl, Corkscrew and Super Roundup.

We were able to do all of those multiple times with hardly any lines. Next we headed over to Thunder Canyon for some river rafting fun. My dad volunteered to keep our stuff and go get a table for the magic show at three.

You guys, if you ever come to Silverwood, you have to see the magic show. It’s so good !

The remaining eight of us did stand in a bit of a line to do the Thunder Canyon ride. All 8 of us fit into one boat.  Kenton was a little upset at the end that he got so wet, but overall that was a really fun ride too, and the weather was hot, so it actually felt good to cool off a little. The only bummer part was the squishy sneakers and socks for the rest of the day. Tomorrow we will bring flip-flops.

After the magic show, we went on the train ride, which was a nice way to relax for a little while. Jenica said she almost fell asleep. It can be a little boring compared to the roller coasters but I still think it’s fun and they do a really good job of entertaining during the ride (train robery, shootings, big foot sightings, and even spitting gnomes.)

Next it was a stop at the ice cream shop. This was their kids cone!

Ellie got two scoops! So much ice cream!

After that we split up for a bit. Grandpa rode the panic plunge two times with Kenton. (Kenton liked it so much the first time, he wanted to do it again.)

My dad and I went on aftershock for the first time, and now we can say we have ridden all the roller coasters at Silverwood.

We finished off the evening in the kids area with lots of rides and hardly any waiting in line.

On our way back out of the park, I think we hit every gift shop. Tenley and Kenton found some fun souvenirs, and I got a cozy new sweatshirt.

Uncle Jeff came back in his great big truck to pick us up and bring us back to the campground. Thanks Jeff! We got cleaned up and headed to bed so we will be well rested to conquer Boulder Beach tomorrow (the water park side of Silverwood.)
